Once we have spoken here are some things you can do to keep you and your family safe until I arrive

  • Keep visual contact

    Do your best to keep an eye on the snake from a safe distance if you know its exact location it will ensure a swift and safe removal.

  • Contain the Snake ( If safe to do so)

    if possible close doors and block off access points to keep the animal confined to one area of the house.

  • Take a photo

  • Taking a photo of the snake will help me identify the species of snake.

  • Secure children and Pets

  • It is crucial to keep children and pets away from the area you have spotted the snake. Keep them indoors or as far away from the snake as possible.

  • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HANDLE THE SNAKE

  • Do not under any circumstances try and handle the snake not only is it illegal but it puts you at serious risk of injury or death and can cause serious injury to the snake

  • 🚨 Stay Calm and Act Fast – Follow These Steps:

    1. Call Triple Zero (000) Immediately

      • Request an ambulance. Time is critical.

      • Do not try to catch or kill the snake — this can be dangerous and is not necessary for treatment.

      2. Keep the Person as Still as Possible

      • Movement can speed up the spread of venom through the body.

      • Reassure the person and keep them calm.

      3.Apply a Pressure Immobilisation Bandage

      • Start bandaging over the bite site, then wrap the entire limb firmly.

      • Immobilise the limb with a splint if possible.

      4.Keep the Person Lying Down and Still

      • Do not let them walk or move unnecessarily.

      • Carry them if you need to get them to a safer location.

  • Yes, a call out fee applies to all snake catching requests. This fee covers the time, travel, expertise, and equipment involved in responding to your call. Regardless of whether a snake is successfully located or captured.

    Snake catching is a specialist service that requires experience, licensing, and readiness to respond quickly and safely in potentially hazardous situations. While we always aim to find and remove the snake during our visit, there are times when the snake may not be visible or has already left the area.

    Please note: The call out fee still applies even if the snake is not caught during the visit. However, if the snake is sighted again after the initial visit, we will return free of charge to attempt removal again.
